California Unions Tangle Over Bid to Raise Health Worker Wages - Bloomberg Law

A legislative effort to boost the minimum wage for workers in health care facilities across California to $25 per hour has attracted opposition from a prominent nurses union that finds itself fighting against its allies in the labor movement.

The bill (S.B. 525) would set a minimum wage for health care workers of $21 an hour starting in June 2024 and increase to $25 an hour in June 2025. That’s up from the statewide minimum wage, which will be $16 an hour next year.
