Californians next year will vote on whether to uphold a landmark law intended to give workers and unions more say in fast-food workplace standards, including raising the minimum wage to $22 an hour.
The petition to overturn the FAST Recovery Act (A.B. 257) is qualified to appear on the 2024 general election ballot, the secretary of state’s office concluded Tuesday. Election officials confirmed by random count that the petition’s backers turned in the minimum 623,212 valid signatures in support of the referendum.
