Carlos Prates isn’t too happy with Michael Morales for allegedly spreading false information.

This past Saturday, Islam Makhachev successfully defended his welterweight title for the first time when he picked up a unanimous decision win over Ian Machado Garry in the UFC 330 main event.

Sitting front row for the fight were two top 170lb contenders, Michael Morales and Carlos Prates, who are both hoping to be picked next for a title fight.

However, the two have now shared words with each other, potentially setting up for an old fashioned number one contender fight.

Prates threatens to knock Morales out after false fight claims

Morales weighed in as the backup for the main event, hoping that would secure his position as the next challenger.

Despite that, if history has taught us anything, it is that weighing in as a backup does nothing to guarantee the next title fight.

During fight night, one of Morales’ friends asked ‘The Nightmare’ if he’d be interested in fighting the Ecuadorian in December, as they came face-to-face in the crowd.

The Brazilian politely declined at the time, claiming that he is instead going to fight for the title next.

According to rumors online, that led to Morales claiming that Prates is afraid to fight him, despite their respectful demeanor towards one another.

And now, ‘The Nightmare’ has responded to welterweight contender, threatening to knock him out after calling him afraid.
