Case: Wage & Hour/Fair Labor Standards Act (WD La.) - Bloomberg Law

ReCon Management Services Inc. is entitled to summary judgment on an electrical and instrumentation design specialist’s Fair Labor Standards Act claim for unpaid overtime wages, a Louisiana federal district court ruled. The court found that the design specialist was ineligible for overtime pay because he was a “highly compensated employee” subject to the white-collar exemption, and that he failed to show that ReCon took improper deductions or willfully violated the FLSA. Further, ReCon provided sufficient evidence showing that it acted in good faith in believing that it made proper payments to the design specialist, the court ruled.
