Case: Wage & Hour/FLSA Retaliation (SD Tex.) - Bloomberg Law

A Texas federal district court denied the motion to dismiss of former employers whose live-in nanny claimed that they failed to pay her minimum wage and retaliated against her in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act. The nanny alleges that she was only paid for 40 hours of work each week despite actually working at least 100 hours a week, and a question of fact exists as to whether she actually worked those hours or was in engaged in normal, noncompensable private pursuits, the court said.
