A nanny/housekeeper can’t proceed with her claim alleging that she was denied overtime wages in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act, a Florida federal district court ruled. Despite her claim that she worked 79 hours per week and was only paid her regular hourly rate and not time-and-a-half for all hours in excess of 40 each week, she was exempt from overtime entitlement because she stayed at her employers’ residence for at least five consecutive nights each week, the court said.
