The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) has reacted angrily to serious allegations made by the congressmen.

The politicians claimed that convicted child s*x trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell is receiving "five-star" treatment and living in a cozy, country-club style setting behind bars.

This happened after California Congressman Robert Garcia toured the minimum-security federal prison camp in Bryan, Texas. Garcia has been investigating the reason why Maxwell was moved to one of the softest prisons in the entire country.

Now, the Federal Bureau of Prisons has shared a lengthy public statement directly attacking Garcia and the investigation, as reported by The Daily Beast.

"In light of the recent congressional staff visit to Federal Prison Camp Bryan, the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) must correct the record as it relates to the intense public interest in inmate Ghislaine Maxwell. While the BOP takes extraordinary efforts to protect the rights and privacy afforded to inmates, recent mischaracterizations have made this statement necessary."

The agency did not stop there.
