Reports linking Celtic striker Camilo Duran with a sensational move to Manchester United have been dismissed as false.
Claims emerging from Azerbaijan had suggested the Premier League giants were monitoring Duran following his blistering start to life at Parkhead.
The speculation came as something of a surprise given the Colombian only joined Celtic from Qarabag for around 6million in July and is just eight games into his Hoops career.
However, Scottish-Azerbaijani journalist Fuad Alakbarov has since stated that the reports connecting Duran with an Old Trafford move have been proven to be false.
Notably, the claims were not picked up by outlets in Colombia, Scotland or England despite suggesting one of the world’s biggest clubs had already taken an interest in the Celtic striker.
Duran has made an immediate impact under Martin O’Neill, registering nine goal involvements across his opening eight appearances and quickly establishing himself as a key figure in the Celtic attack.
His explosive start will inevitably attract attention if it continues, but Hoops supporters can breathe easily over the latest speculation, with the Manchester United links appearing to have no substance.
