Two whistleblowers were awarded more than $1.8 million by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission for information that helped resolve cases involving defrauded investors.
“Like many before them, these whistleblowers showed courage and commitment to the public interest,” Cynthia Lie, acting director of the Whistleblower Office, said in a statement. “They provided critical assistance that helped the Commission identify fraud and return unlawfully obtained funds to American investors.
