Changes to Employment Rights Bill before becomes law - Accountancy Daily

With sweeping changes to employee rights set to come into force, our Croner-i Navigate-HR expert explains the latest amendments to the draft legislation

The Employment Rights Bill has been amended following the conclusion of the committee stage in parliament, setting out changes to guaranteed hours contracts, time limit for tribunal claims and more.

Until the Bill becomes law, there is the potential for it to be changed further and, therefore, the provisions should be viewed as proposals until that time. The government has not set out a firm date for the rules to come into effect, but employers are standing by with anticipation as the legislation has wide-ranging implications for hiring and employment contracts.

Time limit for tribunal claims

The time limit for employment tribunal claims will be increased from three to six months.
