A civic group has filed a complaint against pro-government YouTuber Kim Ou-joon. The accusation stems from allegations that he spread false information about Prime Minister Kim Min-seok, who is supported by the "NewLee Jae Myung" faction.
The representative of the civic group Judicial Justice Upright Citizens' Action (Sasehaeng) announced on the 6th through President Lee Jae Myung’s fan cafe, "Jaemyeong’s Village," that they would report Kim to the police on charges of defamation through false statements and obstruction of business by fraudulent means.
Sasehaeng stated, “Kim Ou-joon, the ‘chief antagonist against the president,’ maliciously spreads false information without proper fact-checking about the Prime Minister, who diligently manages state affairs. He also incites conflict between Prime Minister Kim Min-seok and Party Leader Jung Chung-rae, both supported by ‘NewLee Jae Myung,’ thereby deepening the rift between the government and the ruling party.”
Alongside the complaint, they attached an article published on the 6th detailing the clash between Kim and the Prime Minister’s Office. The article noted that Kim criticized the government during President Lee Jae Myung’s overseas visit, claiming, “There were no emergency meetings regarding the Middle East crisis,” and added, “It feels like a child without a father.” The Prime Minister’s Office refuted this, stating, “This is clearly false. Emergency meetings were held daily.”
