CLC's new pay scale good news for some, bad news for others; 'The ... - Chicago Tribune

Some of the less experienced workers at the College of Lake County can expect raises when the new fiscal year starts July 1, while some who have not reached the top of their pay scale can expect to earn less when they get there.

“The comfortable and secure retirement of those who have a gone before us is no more,” Jennifer Ponzo, a 20-year employee and a library assistant, said. “We are to be left with stagnant incomes, and no hope of real raises and bleak financial outcomes.”

College President Lori Suddick said Wednesday all pay levels are reviewed annually as part of the budget planning process to keep them in line with the market for the skills and qualifications required for a particular job.
