CLEARWATER, Fla. — Clearwater Police just reopened a criminal investigation into a foster couple accused of mental, physical and sexual abuse.
A newly filed 700-page lawsuit is also alleging those same claims of abuse dating back almost 30 years. In January, the Department of Children and Families (DCF) removed nine children from the couple’s waterfront mansion because of abuse allegations.
Currently, the couple isn’t facing any criminal charges, so Spectrum Bay News 9 is not naming them.
Since then, several alleged victims have come forward. The couple’s attorney maintains their innocence, calling these allegations baseless.
Jonathan Feyes is now 36-years-old and he said he once lived in the couple’s Clearwater home. “My first six months to first year was OK,” he said.
But he alleges the couple’s waterfront home with more amenities than he was used to, turned into a house of horrors. “Whether they were sexually abusing you or physically abusing you or not, to let you know if anything and anything that’s said about what they do in that home gets out, you’ll be put in places you don’t want to be put in,” Feyes said.
