A class action lawsuit accuses a Columbus immigration law firm of filing false claims in immigration cases, allegations the firm's founder denies.
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — The owner of a clinical laboratory in Cobb County is charged with defrauding Medicaid, the Georgia attorney general said.
The attorney general said Maged Awad, 61, allegedly submitted more than $300,000 in false payment claims to Georgia Medicaid through his lab, K&S Clinical Diagnostics Consulting Services, LLC.
The claims were for screening tests that allegedly lacked orders from physicians. The claims allegedly identified medical professionals as ordering tests they never requested.
Awad is facing three counts of Medicaid fraud.
