Clinton approved sharing false Trump-Russia claims with press, campaign manager says - WSET
WASHINGTON (TND) — Hillary Clinton authorized her campaign to share materials with the media alleging Donald Trump’s team was secretly communicating with Kremlin-linked Alfa Bank, despite members of her campaign not being "totally confident" the information was accurate, according to witness testimony from former Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook.
The bombshell testimony occurred Friday in the ongoing trial of Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann. Sussman was charged with lying to the FBI after he told the agency in September 2016 that he was approaching them with evidence of the alleged Trump dirt as a concerned citizen, not a paid political operative.

Mook reportedly told jurors Friday that he first learned of the Alfa Bank accusations from campaign lawyer Marc Elias who, along with Sussman, was employed by the law firm Perkins Coie at the time.
During his testimony, Mook described a conversation he had with Clinton about the Alfa Bank accusations, claiming he told her, “we have this, and we want to share it with a reporter,” according to The New York Post.
“She agreed,” Mook pointed out.
He explained the campaign was not 100% confident in the accuracy of the allegations, but the Clinton camp felt giving the information to the media would help verify its legitimacy.
