CNN aired a montage of President Donald Trump claiming inflation has gone down when that is not the case, especially according to recent data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics
CNN is fact-checking Donald Trump's claims about inflation.
On the network's NewsNight with Abby Phillips on Wednesday, October 14, Abby played a montage of the 80-year-old president of saying inflation is going down. The CNN reporter pointed out that's not true and how inflation has actually gone up in the past three months. She noted that the prices going up are "the opposite" of what Americans, who supported him, elected him to do.
CNN like many other outlets have reported that according to the latest Consumer Price Index inflation has risen to an annual rate of 3.7% which is higher than expected. The report released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics on Wednesday, exhibited that the overall prices rose 0.6%. That increase marks it as the largest monthly one in five month. Inflation has been a point of conversation in the past few months and has contributed to Trump's historically low approval ratings.
CNN's brutal move came as Trump's ban on the network's reporter Kaitlan Collins 'lit a fire underneath her' and she takes on the White House.
