The House select committee investigating the January 6, 2021, assault on the Capitol adopted the final report of its inquiry. It includes 17 conclusions about former President Donald Trump’s efforts to remain in power. The committee earlier released an Executive Summary. The panel also sent criminal referrals to the Justice Department, recommending charges against Trump and two of his accomplices. Trump “purposely disseminated false allegations of fraud related to the 2020 presidential election in his effort to overturn the election and for purposes of soliciting contributions, which provoked his supporters to savagery on January 6th.”
