Goals of Our Compliance Program

Bassett’s Compliance Program has been established to prevent the occurrence of illegal or unethical behavior, to stop any such behavior as soon as reasonably possible after it has been discovered, to discipline the individuals involved (including those who know of violations but fail to report them), and to recommend and implement changes in policy and procedure necessary to avoid a recurrence of any prior violation.

One of the ways Bassett does this is to include into its standards of conduct and policies and procedures appropriate processes. The appropriate processes Bassett has implemented helps facilitate compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, detect and prevent health care fraud, waste and abuse, and guarantee efforts in seeking to prevent and detect violations of the law by individuals representing Bassett.

The Compliance Program also helps ensure that service is delivered to patients and business is conducted with third party payors, employees, independent contractors, and other individuals who are representing Bassett using honest and ethical behavior.
