Conagra Brands’ Log Cabin pancake mix is falsely advertised as natural and a good source of fiber, a new class action lawsuit alleges.

Plaintiff Cory Henderson filed the class action lawsuit against Conagra Brands, Inc., Sept. 6 in a New York federal court, alleging violations of consumer laws.

Conagra Brands makes and sells the pancake mix under the Log Cabin brand. According to the lawsuit, the Log Cabin pancake mix is marketed as “all natural.”

“The representation that the Product is ‘All Natural’ is false and misleading because, among other reasons, it contains sodium bicarbonate, or baking soda,” the Conagra class action lawsuit states.

Sodium bicarbonate is prepared by heating a certain kind of ore until it turns to soda ash and is then combined with carbon dioxide, the lawsuit claims.

The addition of carbon dioxide is not a natural process and not one consumers would consider natural, it alleges.
