D.A. to investigate claims of fraud in L.A.
Conestoga College is set to trim approximately 75 faculty positions by the end of 2025 as it continues to grapple with the federal cap on international student enrolment.
Of the dozens of employees leaving:
“[These situations are] never good,” Leopold Koff, president of OPSEU Local 237, told CTV News.
“For the individuals, it’s of course devastating, especially since people who come to become a full-time faculty or counsellor, [or] librarian at the college or any category, they’re doing it out of commitment to doing it, not as a as a job, as a calling.”
In addition to the headcount reduction, Conestoga College is reportedly planning to axe around 80 programs by Fall 2026.
