ConocoPhillips is planning to slash around one-quarter of its global workforce as part of a broader restructuring program.
“We are always looking at how we can be more efficient with the resources we have,” Dennis Nuss, a spokesperson for the oil and gas producer, said in an email to Global News.
“As part of this process, we have informed employees that a 20 to 25% reduction in our global workforce, which includes employees and contractors, is anticipated.”
Nuss added that most of the job cuts are expected to be made before the end of 2025.

ConocoPhillips refused to disclose the exact number of positions being eliminated in a country or region.
According to LinkedIn, the company currently employs more than 1,400 people in Canada.
