CoreLife Eatery to Pay $7.8 Million for False Claims in Restaurant Revitalization Fund - wicz.com
CoreLife Eatery, LLC has agreed to pay $7.8 million to settle a dispute that it made false claims to obtain funds from the Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF), a program established under the American Rescue Plan Act to aid restaurants affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
CoreLife operated restaurants in multiple states, including New York, where it has locations in Vestal, Syracuse and New Hartford.
The company is accused of underreporting the number of restaurants it owns to be eligible for the RRF by the Small Business Administration. Businesses were ineligible is they had more than 20 locations.
