Costco Worker Gets $1.2 Million in Fees for Disability Bias Win - Bloomberg Law

Costco Wholesale Corp. must pay $1.2 million in attorneys’ fees to a former buyer whom a jury found the company subjected to disability-related discrimination.

Marisa Martinez is also entitled to $20,313 in certain costs, the US District Court for the Southern District of California said.

Those amounts are in addition to the $1.7 million the jury awarded Martinez as compensatory damages after finding Costco failed to engage her in the interactive process required by California’s Fair Employment and Housing Act after she sought an accommodation for her anxiety about traveling to Mexico.
