Country star Chris Young has slammed 'false accusations' that he assaulted a police officer and broke his silence over his arrest in Nashville, Tennessee.
Young, 38, was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct, assaulting an officer and resisting arrest after allegedly 'striking' an alcohol compliance agent on January 22 at a bar.
The charges have since been dropped after video of the encounter emerged and the singer took to his Instagram on Thursday to thank his fans for their 'love and support.'
'You know, I'm still processing a lot through the false accusations and everything that went on in the past week. But I wanted to say first and foremost, thank you to everybody that had my back,' Young said in his post.
'It meant the world to me and I had so many friends and fans reach out and say "we got you, we don’t believe you did any of this." So it’s really nice to see the charges get dismissed.'
