Court asked to decide by Feb. 1 on Michigan minimum wage increase - MLive.com

Both sides of a dispute on Michigan’s impending minimum wage increases argued Tuesday, Dec. 13, the timing of an amendment that would slow implementation.

At issue before a panel of Michigan Court of Appeals judges, who are yet to make a decision, is whether the 2018 legislature had the authority to “adopt-and-amend” a ballot initiative pushed through by voters that will raise the minimum wage to $12 by 2022 and up tipped wages from $3.75 to $9.60.
