An Alabama police officer can pursue a lawsuit alleging the Homewood, Ala., police department retaliated against her after she sought changes to her work schedule while being treated for a tumor in her back, a federal appeals court ruled.
Officer Charity Moore claimed in the lawsuit that the department responded to her request by threatening her with disciplinary action, demanding she work longer hours, changing her work schedule, and requiring her to submit to a drug test and a fit-for-duty test.
