Kevin Glaspy, a longtime coach and administrator at Covina High School, was reinstated last week as a teacher by the Covina Valley Unified School District and cleared to begin coaching football again after the district concluded an investigation into his handling of an all-star football game that was held at a district field.
However, the situation appears far from resolved.
On Wednesday, attorney Richard Apodaca, who was hired to represent Glaspy, provided a press release to the Southern California News Group that appears to lay the groundwork for a future lawsuit against the CVUSD and Superintendent Dr. Elizabeth Eminhizer, among others.
In his statement, Apodaca said Glaspy filed a “uniform complaint” on May 31 to the state that alleges the district and Eminhizer subjected Glaspy to “whistleblower retaliation, discrimination, and other unfair treatment …”
