Criminal complaint filed against Trump, Vance for false claims against Haitian community - Yahoo! Voices

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) — A local Haitian community group has filed a criminal complaint against former president Donald Trump and Ohio Sen. JD Vance.

On Wednesday, one group filed a motion to put Trump and Vance behind bars. Hoping for criminal prosecution, the group is now heading to court. Since the presidential debate, the city of Springfield has been under constant surveillance due to numerous threats.

The complaints filed by the Haitian Bridge Alliance include telecommunications harassment, complicity, disrupting public services, aggravated menacing, and making false alarms.

After Trump supported false allegations that Haitians in Springfield had been eating people’s pets, entering the country illegally and spreading deadly disease at the presidential debate, the city has seen a total of 33 threats in the last two weeks.

City leaders and local law enforcement have repeatedly disputed those claims.

“We all know that if anybody else had done this, if anybody else had inflicted this kind of chaos on a community and its residents, action would been taken by now,” said Subdoh Chandra, representative for the Haitian Bridge Alliance.
