CVS Caremark Corp. owes the government $95 million for making misrepresentations about its prescription drug prices which caused Medicare to overpay subsidies in violation of the Federal Claims Act, a federal judge said.
Judge Mitchell S. Goldberg of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania made this determination in a Wednesday order after conducting a bench trial, which started March 10. The court could treble the damages amount and assess penalties, Goldberg said.
