Trump says with the new site, everyone will soon have access to the entire U.S. government right in the palm of their hands, the New York Times reports.
Yet despite his high praise, Trump will likely take issue with a lot of the answers the site provides. By pulling from official government sources, the chatbot is fact-checking a lot of Trump’s claims, including comments he’s made about election fraud, immigration, tariffs and affordability.
Trump’s own fact-checker
When asked about the 2020 election, America.gov’s question-and-answer function confirms that former President Joe Biden did beat Trump. It also confirms that U.S. presidential elections are generally safe and secure, despite Trump’s constant claims of widespread voter fraud.
The site also fact-checked Trump’s claim that 25 million immigrants illegally crossed the border under the Biden administration, stating that Customs and Border Protection had 10.8 million encounters during Biden’s time in office, “far below 25 million,” the chatbot said.
When asked what impact Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill will have on national debt, the chatbot cites findings from the Congressional Budget Office, saying the bill will add more than $2.4 trillion to the primary deficit. America.gov even agreed with the statement that the bill “on average made the poorest people in America even poorer and the richest people in America even richer.”
