Danco Laboratories Settles FCA Claims Over Custom Duties Payment - Bloomberg Law

Danco Laboratories LLC will pay $765,000 to end claims it allegedly violated the False Claims Act by failing to pay certain customs duties on imported pharmaceutical products that lacked markings to identify their country of origin, according to the Department of Justice Wednesday.

The company allegedly failed from 2011 to 2019 to mark imported pharmaceutical products with the appropriate country of origin as required by the Tariff Act of 1930, the DOJ said.

Danco then allegedly avoided the marking duties owed to the US for those imports, the department said.
