6th February 2025 – (Taipei) Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu passed away in Japan during the Lunar New Year after contracting influenza and pneumonia. Following her cremation, her ashes were returned to Taiwan on 5th February in a pink urn, accompanied by her husband DJ Koo and reportedly their children, who wore masks to conceal their identities.

Amidst this, unfounded claims circulated online suggesting that Da S’s ex-husband, Wang Xiaofei, was responsible for arranging and financing the private jet that transported her ashes back to Taiwan, with costs estimated at around 400,000 RMB. According to these reports, Wang insisted on ensuring that Barbie Hsu’s remains were treated with dignity and not as mere cargo.

This narrative quickly gained traction on social media, prompting a strong backlash from Barbie’s family and friends. Dee Hsu, responded vehemently through her manager, asserting that all funeral arrangements, including the private jet, were handled solely by the Hsu family. She expressed her disbelief at the circulating lies, stating, “I cannot comprehend why this falsehood about Wang Xiaofei arranging the flight has emerged.
