Delray Beach Director of Communications Joins Florida Municipal Communicators Association Board of Directors

The Florida Municipal Communicators Association (FMCA), an affiliate of The Florida League of Cities (FLC), has appointed Delray Beach’s Director of Communication, Gina Carter, as a member of their Board of Directors. Dir. Carter will join the board in February 2023 and serve a two-year term helping FMCA uphold their mission to provide its members with resources, support, and representation.

Dir. Carter has spent more than 20 years in public service. She joined the City of Delray Beach in 2019 as a public information manager and was soon after promoted to Director of Comminutions. Before coming to the City of Delray Beach she worked as a public information officer at the Broward Sheriff’s Office. She received an MFA and BFA from The School of the Art institute of Chicago and worked in design and website development before beginning her career in public service.

“The Florida Municipal Communicators Association has made a great choice in asking Dir. Carter to join their board. In three years, she has transformed her position and created a full-service communications department for our city. She is an innovative communicator with many years of experience in the public sphere to draw from,” Mayor Shelly Petrolia said.
