Former President Donald Trump is facing intense criticism after making misleading claims about his polling numbers in the race against Vice President Kamala Harris. Despite recent data showing Harris leading in key battleground states, Trump continues to assert that he is ahead in the polls, a claim that has been widely debunked.

According to Real Clear Politics, an aggregator of polling data, Harris is currently leading Trump by an average of two points nationally. A recent CBS News poll further underscores this trend, placing Harris at 49 percent compared to Trump’s 47 percent. These numbers contrast sharply with Trump’s assertions of dominance in the race.

The only poll showing Trump with a slight lead is from Rasmussen, a firm known for its Republican-leaning results. However, this outlier does little to support Trump’s broader claims of widespread support. In swing states, which are crucial for any presidential victory, Harris has pulled ahead or is tied with Trump in most areas, with Trump only maintaining leads in Nevada and North Carolina.
