Democratic Party Files Daily Media Complaints; Choi Min-hee Tops Individual Claims - 조선일보

The Democratic Party of Korea filed 19 complaints with the Media Arbitration Commission (MAC) during this year’s audit period over critical reports, it was revealed on the 3rd. This means the party filed a complaint with the MAC once a day on average during the 17-day national audit, claiming “damage from media reports.” Among individual lawmakers, Choi Min-hee, head of SIBCC, submitted the most adjustment requests to the MAC during the audit period.

According to the “Adjustment Request Processing Status” submitted by the MAC to the office of People Power Party Representative Kim Seung-soo, the Democratic Party filed eight adjustment requests during the audit period (October 13–30). This was followed by Choi Min-hee, head of SIBCC (six cases), Choo Mi-ae, chair of the Legislation and Judiciary Committee (four cases), and Legislation and Judiciary Committee member Kim Yong-min (one case). During the same period, the People Power Party filed zero cases with the MAC.

Choi was found to have taken issue with reports regarding SIBCC’s audit conduct and her daughter’s wedding. In particular, during a protest against an MBC report claiming the audit was being mismanaged, Choi ordered the retreat of the broadcast division chief during a closed-door audit.
