Devon Energy Production Company LP won’t have to face a workplace suit in Texas by an employee who alleges he was injured at a New Mexico onshore oil rig the driller owned and operated after a valve failed, a Texas court of appeals said.

The Texas Court of Appeals, First District, overturned the trial court’s order that denied Devon Energy and its entities special appearances. It also dismissed employee Jesus Moreno’s injury claims for lack of jurisdiction.
