DHL Last-Mile Drivers Get Collective Status for Some Workers - Bloomberg Law

Drivers located in Washington state may pursue their wage-and-hour claims against DHL Express and a last-mile delivery partner as a collective, but they failed to convince a federal judge to include those based elsewhere.

DHL Express (USA) Inc. and local partner Sidwell Air Freight Inc. allegedly failed to pay overtime or provide proper breaks. Two couriers won conditional certification for a Fair Labor Standards Act collective of Washington drivers, but jurisdictional issues prevent adding opt-in plaintiffs from outside the state, the US District Court for the Western District of Washington said.
