Disinformation spreads false claim of 2.4 million Ukrainian military casualties - mezha.net

A viral claim alleges 2.4 million Ukrainian soldiers killed or missing, but the Centre for Countering Disinformation says the figure is fabricated.

A new wave of disinformation brings yet another lie: allegedly 2.4 million dead and missing in action among Ukrainian service members in the war with Russia. Such figures are fictional.

The Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine said on social media that such messages are being spread by hostile-leaning outlets.

According to the Center for Countering Disinformation, the sources of the information were named as ‘Russian hackers’ who allegedly hacked into databases of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, territorial recruitment and social support centers, and medical facilities.
