A person died by suicide earlier this week at Walt Disney World's Contemporary Resort hotel, officials said.
On Tuesday, Oct. 14, a body was found at the hotel near the Magic Kingdom outside Orlando, Fla., Entertainment Weekly reported.
The spokesperson for the Orange County Sheriff's Office clarified that, contrary to information circulating on social media, the person "was NOT struck by the monorail, so that is erroneous information."
The local medical examiner's office subsequently identified the victim as Summer Equitz and said Equitz died by suicide from multiple blunt impact injuries.
An investigation into the death is ongoing.
When asked about footage that shows a white tent being set up on a balcony of the hotel and reports that the body was found on the tracks of the monorail, the sheriff's spokesperson declined to comment further, according to EW.
"We don't release additional information in cases of suicide," they said.
Walt Disney World did not immediately respond to a request for comment from PEOPLE.
Call data reviewed by CBS affiliate WKMG confirms that authorities received a report about the death around 6:40 p.m. local time along North World Drive.
