District of Columbia Enacts Emergency Covid-19 Leave Law - Bloomberg Tax

District of Columbia employees are entitled to paid leave for taking time off work to receive and recover from a Covid-19 vaccine, under a new emergency law (D.C. Act 24-209) signed by Mayor Muriel Bowser (D) on Nov. 18.

The law became effective Nov. 18, and will remain effective no longer than 90 days.

Employers must provide two hours of paid leave to employees for them or their children to receive a Covid-19 vaccination and an additional eight hours of paid leave during the 24-hour period following the vaccination injection for the vaccine recipient to recover from any ...
