DOJ Whistleblower Erez Reuveni Exposes High-Level Defiance of Court Orders and Retaliation

WASHINGTON—Today, Government Accountability Project and Gilbert Employment Law, P.C. submitted a protected whistleblower disclosure on behalf of Erez Reuveni, former Acting Deputy Director of the Department of Justice (DOJ)’s Office of Immigration Litigation (OIL). The disclosure, submitted to Congress, the DOJ Office of Inspector General, and the U.S. Office of Special Counsel, details grave allegations of misconduct, abuse of authority, and unlawful retaliation by senior DOJ and White House officials.

Mr. Reuveni, a 15-year DOJ veteran with a distinguished bipartisan record, was terminated after refusing to comply with directives he believed violated court orders and ethical obligations as an attorney. His disclosure outlines a pattern of deliberate defiance of federal court rulings related to immigration enforcement, including:

  • Knowingly violating court injunctions to carry out deportations under the Alien Enemies Act.
  • Directing attorneys to mislead courts and suppress evidence in high-profile immigration cases.
  • Retaliating against Mr. Reuveni for refusing to file briefs with misrepresentations and for truthfully informing a federal judge that a deportation had been carried out in error.
