DOJ's Special Counsel Requests Access to Fox News ... - NNN NEWS NIGERIA

A lawyer for Fox News whistleblower Abby Grossberg has confirmed that the Department of Justice‘s (DOJ) Special Counsel Jack Smith has requested access to some of the recordings held by her. Grossberg, who is a former producer on Tucker Carlson Tonight, sued the host and other executives at the network. The lawyer confirmed Smith’s request on MSNBC and said that he had been contacted by several law enforcement authorities. He also confirmed that it was the special counsel, Jack Smith, who got in touch.

The tapes contain evidence of Republican senator Ted Cruz discussing blocking the certification of the 2020 election with Fox News’s Maria Bartiromo. The tapes were aired by MSNBC, and the clip played shows Cruz saying that the country deserves a credible assessment of these claims and what the evidence shows. The tape is dated January 2, 2021, and exposes Cruz’s apparent plot to overthrow the 2020 election’s result by blocking the certification of Joe Biden‘s victory on January 6 and establishing a commission to investigate alleged claims of fraud.

Bartiromo joined Fox News in 2013 and became an advocate for Donald Trump during his presidency, often giving him unchallenged interviews. Her coverage of the 2020 election, together with Carlson’s, was a focus of the defamation lawsuit filed by Dominion Voting System against Fox, which the network settled for $787.5 million.
