Former House Speaker Paul Ryan will be deposed by Dominion Voting Systems in its $1.6 billion lawsuit against Fox News, a new court filing shows.

Ryan joined the Fox Corporation board of directors in 2019 after choosing not to run for re-election in the 2018 midterms. He had been speaker of the House of Representatives for more than three years while Republicans were in power, capping off 20 years in Congress.

The election technology company is scheduled to depose Ryan on Tuesday morning, according to the filing, which was submitted to court Friday and made public Monday. Dominion sued the Fox News Network and its parent entity Fox Corporation in 2021, alleging they defamed the company by pushing false conspiracy theories about its role in the 2020 presidential election.
