A DoorDash Inc. delivery driver should have to arbitrate wage-and-hour allegations against the company according to a federal magistrate judge’s recommendation.
The delivery driver accuses DoorDash of misclassifying him as an independent contractor and failing to pay minimum and overtime wages he was due as an employee. His individual claims belong in arbitration, Magistrate Judge Daniel C. Irick of the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida said.
Irick also recommended that the district court strike claims filed on behalf of a would-be Fair Labor Standards Act collective.
