DoorDash is getting ready to offer drivers hourly pay rates, but there's a catch!
The hourly rate is only based on the time spent on a delivery, meaning the time between accepting an order and delivering it. Drivers currently get paid a fee for each delivery.
The company's minimum wage rate will be between $10 and $19.50 an hour. Drivers can also earn extra tips.
The new policy will not impact New York drivers because the city's Earning Standard law already sets a minimum pay for workers.
DoorDash says the change could help recruit more drivers and alleviate fair wage concerns.
