Dinolfo, Dorothy E. ROTTERDAM Dorothy Elizabeth Ciancio Dinolfo, 66 of Rotterdam, entered into eternal rest on March 23, 2022, after a long illness. Dorothy was born on Easter Sunday in 1955 in New Rochelle, N.Y. She was predeceased by her parents, Edward Ciancio and Dorothy (Sullivan) Ciancio. At the age of three years old, Dorothy lost her father and was raised by her loving mother in Westerlo. Dorothy graduated from Berne-Knox High School in 1973. She earned an associate degree in liberal arts from the Sage Junior College of Albany and a bachelor's degree in British American literature from SUNY Empire State College. She was an avid reader who enjoyed trips to the library, and reading novels. Prior to her illness, she spent time as a literacy volunteer helping young people learn how to read. Dorothy spent time raising her small children prior to a federal career of 29 years. She retired as a federal investigator working for the U.S. Department of Labor, Wage Hour Division. Her job brought occasional travel while investigating companies to ensure lawful payment of employee wages. Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband of 46 years, Mark L. Dinolfo Sr.; three children, Gwynne, Mark Jr., and Barrett; older sister, Susan (Ciancio) Fancher; brother-in-law, Dennis Fancher; niece, Karyn Fancher and many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed spending time with her best friend of over 40 years, Tina Purdy. Over the years, they spent many hours crafting and going on bus trips....
