The money DST Systems Inc. must pay employees who filed individual arbitration actions challenging their 401(k) plan climbed by another $6.4 million to top $34 million when a federal judge in Missouri confirmed 36 additional arbitration awards favoring DST workers.
Judge Nanette K. Laughrey of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri on Tuesday issued a pair of orders confirming 36 awards ranging between zero and $172,067. She also ordered DST to pay about $5.4 million in legal fees and costs in connection with these actions.
