A legal assistant from the Durham District Attorney's Office was charged with DWI and resisting an officer.
The State Highway Patrol confirmed Josiah Wilkerson, 24, was arrested Thursday after a crash on U.S. Highway 70 and Pleasant Drive.
Wilkerson was charged with DWI, resist a public officer, expired registration and expired inspection. He was given an unsecured bond of $2,500.
According to a spokesperson from the DA's office, Wilkerson joined the office in March 2022 as a legal assistant.
The office declined to comment further "due to the pending charges and personnel matters involved.
