eBay announced on October 21, 2026, that it’s laying off approximately 9% of its global workforce. The latest cuts come just eight months after the online marketplace eliminated around 800 jobs in February.
CEO Jamie Iannone told employees that eBay wants to simplify its operations and focus more resources on the parts of its business growing the fastest. Affected workers will be notified in the coming days.
It’s another difficult announcement for eBay employees, particularly those who have already seen several rounds of layoffs in recent years.
