EEOC Seeks First Subpoena Under Pregnant Workers Fairness Law - Bloomberg Law

The EEOC initiated a lawsuit to obtain its first subpoena under the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, seeking information from a freight transportation and logistics services personnel provider accused of bias.

As part of a discrimination investigation on behalf of a female driver, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is requesting information from Illinois-based R&L Carriers Shared Services LLC about workers who also asked for pregnancy-related job accommodations.

The US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois will weigh the agency’s case.
